Loosely based on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s tale “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King”

Equilibrio Dinamico takes on this great classic and explores a new vision for families. We aim to give back a colourful, bright, and enchanting format to Clara and the Nutcracker. All danced to Tchaikovsky’s famous music that encompasses and expresses all the composer’s musical invention. From the thick notes full of mystery to bright and lively moments of colour, in between magical and dreamlike, fun and playful, resolute and adventurous, romantic and secret.
A lively, fast-paced new interpretation to draw young audiences to the great classics.
Inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s tale, the story takes place on Christmas Eve when the boundary between reality and dreams magically disappears. On stage, an eccentric storyteller from the world of enchanted dreams will take us inside Clara’s magical dream. Clara and Fritz, two young siblings, are waiting with trepidation for the arrival of Drosselmeyer, the uncle surrounded by an air of mystery and magic who, together with his gifts, opens the doors of dreams. It will be him to give Clara and Fitz a Nutcracker, a simple toy that will come alive and take Clara on a journey through its enchanted world. Clara will join the Nutcracker in the war against the wicked Mouse King who is threatening Clara’s dream, but she will succeed and kill the Mouse King with a slipper. Then the Nutcracker is magically transformed into a prince! So their journey continues, clouds and fog appear and a snowstorm becomes the background for Clara and the Nutcracker’s love. The meeting with the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier will be just as magical when they greet our two protagonists with music, colours, and traditional dances. But now… Silence! It’s almost dawn, and Clara’s dream is about to vanish! But Clara will take back with her a great gift: the awareness of being courageous and and capable of love.
