Inspired by the tale “Nutcracker and the King of mice” by E.T.A. Hoffmann

It is the evening of Christmas Eve where the boundaries between reality and dream have the magical power to dissolve.

Clara and all the other children wait with great trepidation the arrival of the godfather Drosselmeyer, a character of those to whom only Hoffmann knew how to give life, who passes naturally from the dimension of reality to the one of dreams.

Drosselmeyer brings with him so many sudden emotions for children: thanks to him Clara will get to know the mysterious world of the Nutcracker. This magical toy will accompany the brave Clara on a journey into her enchanted world.

Clara will join the Nutcracker in the battle against the mice, led by the evil king of mice whose only purpose is to threaten the marvelous kingdom. Once defeated mice and once killed the king of mice, Uncle Drosselmeyer will transform Clara into a princess and the Nutcracker into a beautiful Prince and will lead them on a journey to an enchanted world. In the midst of a storm of snow, Sugar Plum Fairy will appear and will join them across dances and celebrations between sounds, colours and cultures!

-Silence! – … it’s about to get dark and Clara’s dream is about to vanish! But don’t worry: courage and love will always win in the end, in fairy tales as well as in real life.
